Welcome to the beginning of an era.
This blog will follow the renovation of a 1920's house in Fountain Square, one of the oldest still-intact neighborhoods in Indianapolis, Indiana. I finally convinced my wife to buy this heap of house in the face of expecting a child...maybe I'm a little crazy. Alas, this will in fact be the second such renovation that I have started, the first one ongoing although approximately 99% complete. I wish blogs had been as popular when I started that project 5 years ago so I would have a complete, timely record of the progress and a narrative account of the project. At this point it is all only recorded on 35mm negatives and in what space is left in my brain.
I'll begin in a few days (after the Thanksgiving Holiday) by posting a little background on my current residence and first major renovation project, 1334 - 36 Linden Street. That way I can preserve the important points of what I've learned along the way, and you'll get a good picture what is capable of being done with determination, a little financial creativity and a strong dose of throwing caution into the wind.
Until then . . . have a wonderful holiday.
